Today we embarked on another long journey to the field. We started our voyage through a clearing so dangerous we had to walk in front of the vehicles to steer them clear of any danger that may jump out in front and delay this timeless adventure. Then we had to wait to receive word that it was safe to journey any further. After an hour of waiting we were able to continue with our protective mask flack vest ballistic helmet m-16 and orange reflective vest. This all to protect us from all the danger we were about to face. We merged into traffic around trucks that had stopped in the road possibly an attempt to deter us from our mission. Luckily all of the drivers passed the extensive week long driving course so they were all able too adapt and overcome. then all seemed clear for a while until we came to a barricade in the road so we maneuvered quickly and drove into a parking lot we were able to manage to drive into a parking area for a bus terminal and there we were able to get back onto a main road and carry on with out any further delays. Once we got to the bottom of the hill we had to shift our trucks into a lower gear and pray they would take us up the enormous hill safely and not overheat. Fortunately all of the trucks were kept in good maintenance and tackled the hill without hesitation. Once on the site we kept all our gear on and began setting up our camo and antennas.

Now if only my life was this exciting, and it would take longer to do this than to write it.

I am so tired of living in the barracks and being in the Army its no wonder why some people go AWOL. I spent almost $90 on groceries the other day and I come back after spending the day with my girlfriend and notice that just about everything I bought that was kept in the fridge my room mate and his wife got into. I could understand they got something to drink or something small because they didn’t want to go out right then and buy something but everything I had in there just about is another thing. I had to go through everything and put my name on it like elementary school again.

I am just so sick of this it makes me want to strangle him in his sleep.

Today was supposed to be my wedding day. We postponed it for the second time cause it is really important to her that if we have a big wedding that her parents attend. If we had a small wedding or just went to the embassy she doesn’t seem to care as much. But I want the big wedding cause this is something I want to do only once. So it’s kind of put us in a situation where we have to wait to get what we want. I am not all into running off and getting married. After my parents divorced they both ran off and got married without telling anyone and I still have that intellect that “I don’t want to be like my parents” even though I am too the point now where I realize it is inevitable I still try. Either way, seeing today was supposed to be the day we got married we are planning on going out and doing something. Of course I will have my camera and it’s been a while since I have posted any pictures here so maybe I will get to do that after today. I think we are going to the zoo and some place I have never heard of, I am not sure I am leaving that up too her. Its her country and she knows it better than me so why not? At least it gets me out of the barracks, haven’t gone out in what seems like forever.

The new upcoming version of windows has long been talked about being based on the whole .NET framework. I have heard this from numerous sources. Now they are saying that it is not going to be based on .NET but will be programmed in C#. This is good news for some. “A big benefit of the new plan is that developers don’t have to move to .Net if they want to use new Longhorn features.” I know I would prefer that they don’t use .NET at all. I would like to be able to run my old DOS programs again without an emulator but something’s are getting to be too old to be backwards compatible. .Net will change things up again and I am not ready for that.

They have now come out with a new device that will scan through your clothes and detect other things like ceramic knifes, drugs, and anything else you can think of. It sees everything!

“Well, you’ll see basically everything,” said Bill Scannell, a privacy advocate and technology consultant. “It shows nipples. It shows the clear outline of genitals.”

Of course, this is starting to get some people upset already. The technology for these devices (nicknamed “backscatter’s”) has been around for a while, but when they first talked about the idea a lot of people were more worried about there privacy. The pictures I saw were not really that clear for those that are perverts. Personally though, I don’t fly much, about once a year, twice on a rare occasion (once meaning round trip) and I would rather take some extra precautions instead of crashing into some tall building in downtown NYC. But what are the odds that someone would high-jack a plane and kamikaze it into a building killing nearly 50,000 people? At least I bet they were thinking about that when they first came out with this and wanted to use it. It nice that some people worry more about being gawked at and fondled than being shot in the head.
