I must be getting old just my whole body aches today.  For PT they thought it was a good idea to run all the way to the subway station and back.  My legs hurt so bad I just want to collapse.  Tired but too much too do.  I am hoping that in a month I will be able to take some rest (with a baby, yeah right).  Another day, I am going to bed.

The weekend is over and I am getting everything back together so that I can start another week of repeatative bullshit with the Army.  This whole Lunar New year crap that I went to do with the In-laws was not as much as I thought it would be.  The wife’s grandmother is in the hospital so we went and visited her there and then the brother-in-law wanted to win some money by playing hwatu with me.  I won 12,000 won from him.  Kinda funny cause he talks a lot of trash every time yet I always win…, just against him though.  Its the only game on my phone that I really play so when I get bored I get a lot of practice.
Got most of my laundry done and everything pressed and shined, now I just have to get everything ready for going to the promotion board on Friday.  No looking forward to that at all.  Really need to study but no time anymore.
While I was at the hospital we went for a walk and I actually saw a drive thru McDonalds.  I seriuosly didn’t think they existed in Korea.  I was a little south of Incheon in a town I can’t remember when I found this.

I thought this was rather wierd. My wife freaked out saying they can’t do this like she had never heard of it so I think the story might be a little blown out of the water. (1 out of 3 want to do this?)

Basically people in Korea are paying retired couples in the states and Canada to adopt thier full grown kids so that they are legal citizens in that country and can go to school there to get a better education. The Korean couple pay amounts up to $30,000 to these couples to do this. They may give up thier legal rights but they still maintain a relationship with thier biological parents as no adoption took place and continue to live in seperate countries.

I guess, some people believe that thier children come first. Personally I feel its best to raise the child myself and would never send them away so they can get a better education.

Thanks to Oranckay for pointing this one out.

Stars & Stripes

But following those preliminary inspections at Pohang and Yongsan, South Korea and USFK struck an agreement a month ago to allow for more inspections of U.S. bases to seek Korean artifacts and treasures, said officials from both nations.

The administration is eager to do more searches to discover artifacts and architecture that may document Korea’s past, according to Yoon. “The agreement lays the foundation in inspecting Korea national treasures systematically at the U.S. bases,” he said.

The Cultural Properties Administration is to take the lead on the inspections, though USFK must approve the site visits, both sides said.

Yoon said he hopes to gather information on possible artifacts, other burial mounds and architecture on U.S. military bases throughout the country. His agency also is interested in gathering data on animals and plants that might be indigenous to such areas.
