I thought this was rather wierd. My wife freaked out saying they can’t do this like she had never heard of it so I think the story might be a little blown out of the water. (1 out of 3 want to do this?)

Basically people in Korea are paying retired couples in the states and Canada to adopt thier full grown kids so that they are legal citizens in that country and can go to school there to get a better education. The Korean couple pay amounts up to $30,000 to these couples to do this. They may give up thier legal rights but they still maintain a relationship with thier biological parents as no adoption took place and continue to live in seperate countries.

I guess, some people believe that thier children come first. Personally I feel its best to raise the child myself and would never send them away so they can get a better education.

Thanks to Oranckay for pointing this one out.
