After spending the day up in the Clay/Baldwinsville area I managed to grab my 99th cache. But hungry and wanting to meet up with my sister later at the mall to see how she was after our walk through Green lakes yesterday I called it quits for now and headed out.

On the way home from the mall I was wandering around Syracuse trying to find a car wash and basically got myself lost. I came across this beautiful park with a big fountain in it. I had to stop and pull out my GPS. I knew that with a park like this there had to be a geocache in it. If there wasn’t that would be fine too cause there was about to be.

I grabbed my bag and started throwing my camera, compass, and a few other things that I always have with me in my pockets. The GPS was all loaded and when I did a search for the nearest geocache it read 0.04mi.

“I KNEW IT!” I exlaimed.

I don’t think anything could of pissed me off more than opening my first cache of the day to find this.

“Confiscated by Jackboot!

Play this game somewhere else! Away from the park, away from the utility access road!

Play fair, play nice, be safe!”

At Green Lakes State Park there are about 20 cache’s to find.  Having been there before and only finding three before the batteries in my GPS died I was quite eager to come back.

I have made plans once before but they were quickly postponed as the paramedics were taking my brother to the emergency room after falling out of a tree.  Making a third attempt at grabbing all the cache’s in this part would hopefully be my last, due to a success.

Leave around 4pm would of been our first mistake, however my sister worked until 2 so we didn’t have much choice if we wanted her to come.  It was going to be myself, my sister Alicia, and her finance Kevin.

I run a website for US Army soldiers, that encourages sharing templates, images, and other files to help them with training and performing their everyday duties. On occasion I get an e-mail or a phone call from someone cause something copyrighted slips through. I make next to nothing, and I primarily am trying to help soldiers. However, some people are out to make a quick buck it seems and scream copyright infringement every chance they get.

I think because of this it has trained me to keep a closer eye out on things when surfing the web.

One thing I noticed today is while watching the video for the free services Geocache Navigator has on Nokia phones shows at about 2:18 into the video a picture from istockphoto.com that was downloaded and used illegally.

The best thing about where I live is I am so close to one of the best mountain biking single tracks in the Syracuse area. Its a small short track but the challenge that it presents make it a worth while track. I would guess that parts of it would be black diamond.

Today I took my dad on it for the first time and it was going pretty well. I was leading for a change cause it was me showing him a track and not the other way around. About half way through we were on the track that runs the side of the hill running at a pretty good pace. It was a moderate terrain and probably reached speeds of up to 15 MPH.

I jumped this one log and was watching the ground during the landing and when I looked up I had almost no time to react. I ran into a tree. The handlebars to my bike hit the tree and slingshot me forward sending the side of my face and neck into the tree.
