I stayed up with the wife last night while she browsed the net for a purse that is unrealisticly unaffordable and we lost track of time. After finally crawling in bed at 3:30 it felt nearly impossible getting out of bed this morning at 7:30. I have been parking my car on the street outside of her apartment while staying with her and there is no parking here from 7:30 am until 6pm. So despite when we go to bed, I (just me not her) have to get up and move the car into a spot where someone can put a notice on it threatening to tow my car.
Across the street there is room for 4 cars, but grabbing one of these spots is cut throat and sometimes I swear that people slow down when they see me parking to stare and flash dirty looks. So far my car has no scratches, dents, broken windows, etc. I am about to drop my insurance deductable down to $0 for this reason and I am not too crazy about having another window broken. (FYI, if you really hate someone break a window, a scratch may look bad and rust, but they will never clean all that glass out of the car, and the door will sound like a baby rattle whenever they open the door.)
The whole parking process here is almost unrealistic. The nice thing is, it is friday and the parking police don’t work on the weekend so come 6pm tonight I can park on the street until monday morning when this entire cycle repeats. (At least I know if I slip the ticket is only $20, which isn’t bad seeing I have parked in San Francisco for 6 hours and paid about $15.) I honestly think that the parking situation in Korea is better. At least there they put their phone numbers on thier windshield so people can call and politely ask them to move there car so they don’t get towed or vandalised. At least thats the idea.
