I have realized that everything around here involving my web sites goes to hell when I buy a Harry Potter book. Two years ago RazorNylon was shut down cause the PX made an error and put the book on the shelf too early, and I bought it. After realizing that I bought it nearly three weeks early I took pictures of it to brag and posted it on my blog. Didn’t know at the time but the back cover was unreleased and I was guilty of “copyright infringement”. I think they were pissed that I bought the book before the release date. Even though their lawyers said I bought it “illegally”, I legally used my credit card in the PX to buy it. Just didn’t know until someone with a badge showed up at work asking for it back, that it was un-released.

So I am pointing my finger at Harry Potter. Dumb as it may seem, it appears to work out that way. I buy a book, my website gets shut down…, do you see the logic?

LOL, it just humors me lately every time I see the book I remember them shutting down RazorNylon two years ago. If your not up to speed on the entire story read these two blog entries from 2005.

An interesting report of what’s happening in Canada: Music Sales Climb 25% In Canada, Canadian Heritage finds. This is contrary to what the recording industries claim, that online distribution is hurting their sales. While we can argue about who is playing with numbers, one thing is certain: Napster has shown online music distribution is popular, and iTunes has shown distributing online is good business.

From McBride of the Barenaked Ladies (a Canadian artist):
McBride wrote:

Additionally, you won’t see the difference in revenue that a band generates from an artist-run label as opposed to a band on a major label; an artist-run label can earn as much as $5 per album,” he explains; “once all of these missing entities are factored together, a difference close to 30% of North American sales is missing from the chart equation. “The artist-run model is the future. If we can break bands using this model, the industry will be forever changed,” McBride continues. “We are making a music company, not a record label.

That’s a future the recording industries doesn’t want. But rock on, independent artists out there. Your copyright of your music is more valuable than the record companies’ promises of fame and fortune.

My and the wife got new phones this weekend. The battery in hers wouldn’t stay charged for more than a couple hours so we have been talking about buying her one for a while. Then my phone, well after falling off the fourth floor railing there wasn’t much left of it. So seeing I had no phone at all and she needed one we decided to buy matching ones at the same time.

She wanted the pink Motorola RAZR, which isn’t a bad phone but not much of a pink fan myself I opted for the black.

The phone doesn’t come with as much special things as my last phone, but its about half the size so that makes up for it in my opinion. It does come with an MP3 player and camera plus some other small bells and whistles but nothing special. The one thing that I really like is the software you can download from thier website. Let me put it this way, when I installed it I got this message.

razreng.jpg

It imports all my contacts, schedule, to-do list, and everything else from Microsoft Outlook. Plus it gives me the option to save all my text messages incoming and outgoing. The MP3 is a different program called Melon, which if you watch Korean TV you have seen the commercial for it. Its all in Korean so its going to take some time to figure out, but with my wifes help I should be able to get some MP3’s I want on it.

In order to download anything from either of the sites, including the phone software, you need to create an account. Which in Korea means you have to use your “Secret Number” which is the equalivant to the U.S.’s Social Security number. So if your in Korea and already have a RAZR phone or are thinking about getting one, you might want this software. It comes with all the cables and everything else with the phone, but if you don’t have a Korean “Secret number” which odds are you don’t download the software here.

I was thinking that MWR was running out of people to come here and perform for us with having this guy come here. I have heard of the guy before but never really paid any attention to him. Seeing the name rang a bell and it was actually on my post I stopped by and checked him out for all of ten minutes. Its been getting rather busy around here with the baby and new apartment and everything else. Haven’t been bloggin much or editing the page like I use to either…, if you have been paying attention you may of noticed Girl Friday just stopped. I just haven’t got the time anymore. I am trying to find a way where I can add new content offline and post it later, then I can use my laptop in the car or on the bus when I am at work and not doing anything. All in all I am still trying to post new content here.

This is a one night only concert of the 15th of August this year. The ticket prices are a little steep ranging from 100,000 won to 120,000 won. But seeing the concert isn’t for a couple months it shouldn’t be that hard to come up with that much money. What I don’t understand is the 15th is a Tuesday night. Its held at the Olympic Main Stadium which if you don’t know thats in the most south-eastern part of Seoul right next to Lotte World.

Will try to post more information as I come across it.

For more information (in Korean) visit the Interpark Ticket Information website.
